1. D&G was founded by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. They are said to have met when they were both working as assistants to designer Giorgio Correggiari.

2. The turning point for D&G was in the 1990s when they designed the (fifteen hundred) costumes for Madonna's "The Girlie Show". 

3. In 1999 they launched a children's collection called D&G Junior.

4. The essence of the brand is based on "timeless silhouettes, masterfully crafted fabrics and Sicily".

5. The most iconic D&G handbag is Miss Sicily, created by the duo in 2009.
